Ten Broeck Farm

Phil Silva Handles at the 2009 Oldenburg Inspection Equine Park at Cornell University
July 13, 2009

For the seventh year in a row, the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society visited the Equine Park at Cornell University to inspect mares and foals from the breeding herd as well as several privately owned mares and foals.

Phil Silva of Ten Broeck Farm was invited to handle for the inspections. Inspectors Mo Swanson, Ludger Thole and Holly Simensen evaluated two mares and fifteen foals. Phil Silva did a great job of showing the mares and dodging the energetic foals!

Congratulations to Maggie Neider for her filly, Perpetua NHF who was awarded Premium foal as well as the Foal of Distinction Award. Francine Walker's Sinatra Song filly, Sassicaia, was also awarded Premium foal along with the Benvolio colt, Bon Voyage, owned by Kris Smith. Two additional Foal of Distinction awards were given to Lambrusco, a L'Andiamo colt owned by Sue Swart and Lalena Star, a L'Andiamo filly owned by Alexandra Krossen. Cindy and Gene Fletcher presented one Weser-Ems foal, HMF Chocolate Delight by Hilkens Black Delight, for a Premium award. Christine Schweizer brought back her Premium foal from the 2007 Inspection, Best Wishes (Benvolio x Wellwisher by Wendepunkt) who entered the Main Mare Book. Cheri Schultz brought her colorful mare and foal pair, Moonpie by Sempatico who entered the Main Mare Book, with her flashy filly, Moondance by Rosenthal.
