Pepperell Equine Community Set for Local Expo

Saturday, October 31
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
at the Town Field on Hollis Street, Pepperell, MA

Equine enthusiasts of all ages are invited to Field Day sponsored by the Pepperell Horse Owners Association (PHOA).

This complimentary event is an annual celebration of horses with demonstrations of various equine disciplines and an avenue of unique breeds and colors of the horse.

Children can enjoy a scavenger hunt--complete with prizes-- pony rides and an arts and crafts center. Adults may take in the various educational offerings as well as visit the food and merchandise vendors.

According to PHOA President Steve Ferreira, whether you ride a horse, own a horse, or your children just dream about cute little ponies you should stop by and learn more. He adds, “These beautiful animals will be on hand for all to enjoy. And, the Pepperell equine community is excited to share information about their favorite breed, training methods, and riding style with attendees.” Many of the local equestrian centers and stables will also be available to share more about their farms.

The Pepperell Horse Owners Association was formed in 2003 in response to the town's proposal to regulate horse-keeping. Pepperell has always been home to several large professional barns and many backyard horses, the widespread concern over the proposal quickly brought conscious horse owners and riders together.

Today, the organization has proved sustainability and continues to grow in support of common interest. PHOA’s mission statement, "Working to preserve and encourage equine activities in the Town of Pepperell," and works to fulfill the mission by hosting a variety of activities for both horse owners and non horse owners in town.

Anyone interested in protecting the local equine community while taking advantage of local and national discounts can explore PHOA membership at www.phoa.info.

Volunteers and worker crews are always welcome for Field Day. If you are interested in helping out or exhibiting your horses or business, please contact Steve Ferreira at 978-433-1974.
